It was great to continue the collaboration with the Tijerinas and pick up where we last left off with the single. I wanted the full length and single to work together visually but also stand on their own. I stuck with the same color scheme and distressed pointillism but changed the subject(s) to a darker story. The album has a warm summer drive vibe, a cinematic escape. After watching a documentary on the director, Roman Polanski, the story really affected me. I enjoyed Rosemary’s Baby but didn’t know of the dark/evil events involving him and the thirteen year old victim. I wanted to create a classic punk/power pop look and add mystic by juxtaposing the Polanski’s mugshot with the victim’s newspaper portrait.
